No matter how great God is, if we don’t know Him personally through an intimate relationship and experience His power and glory in our lives, His greatness would not mean that much to us at all. By the way, His greatness can only be as relevant to us to the extent that we allow Him to unleash it in us. Since His greatness has already been revealed plainly to us, the thing that matters the most is how we choose to respond to it.
The greatness of God is a divine attribute that is so immense to the extent that we don’t possess the ability to fully express or wrap our minds around His infinite greatness as finite being. So His greatness far exceeds our own intelligence, wisdom, understanding, and words that are very limited by nature. Continue reading
Before going any further with this teaching regarding praising God, it’s imperative that we try to settle a clear distinction between praise and worship, even though there’s strong bond between both of them. While they are similar to each other in several ways; however, they are not exactly the same thing in essence.
Have you ever felt like when going through life’s trials that you’ve been abandoned completely by God? Have you ever felt like there’s a huge wall erected between God and you in the context of Him not seem to be able to listen to your prayer requests? Have you ever felt like you’re struggling all alone in your current circumstances, regardless of how hard you’ve tried and prayed? Have you felt quite disappointed by God in the sense that He has let you down time after time?
Faith is constituted of several vital substances. First, faith is connected to God’s grace bestowed upon mankind through Christ (John 1:14; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Titus 3:5). That’s the very starting point of faith. When we’re exercising faith in God, we have to believe that whatever we need from Him had already been fulfilled through His Son Christ Jesus through grace.
There is a seemingly bizarre story recorded in the Bible within the book of Mark chapter 9, which describes a young boy who was possessed by a mute demonic spirit since he was a child. It was a highly dangerous form of demonic possession which had threatened his entire life. Based on the account of that young boy’s father, whenever the boy is seized by that unclean evil spirit, it throws him down in such a violent manner; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid as a consequence. Even worst, that same evil spirit threw him into fire along with water with the intent of destroying him.
If there’s one of the most comforting chapters out of the Word of God that we can turn to in the midst of life’s trials, it would be Psalms 46. To a large degree, bad circumstances in this life are unavoidable. In many cases, you don’t have to invite one upon your life in order for it to come. As God’s children, He hasn’t promised us that He’ll always spare us from every problem that will come our way.
Why the wicked are prospering while the righteous are struggling to even get by? Have you ever asked yourself that puzzling question? It’s quite interesting to realize that most of the wealth in this world is piled up into the hands of the wicked. Have you ever wondered why the work of the Lord is struggling when it comes down to financial resources while the unjust are just wasting their own money on things that are devoid of any eternal significance?
Prayer is an integral part of the Christian faith. It’s something that we must set aside quality amount of time for it. Prayer is us talking to God concerning our needs, wants, or anything that we’re struggling with that’s beyond our control. If God demands us to do something, it’s because it’s of great importance. So it’s something that we have to take very seriously if we really want to live the kind of life that He desires for us to live through His Son.
One major aspect of faith is that it compels us to act out on it to obediently and earnestly follow whatever command God has given us if we truly want to exercise it. In fact, our willingness to act out on our faith is precisely what will demonstrate whether our faith in God is real. Our love for God can only be expressed through the means of our obedience to Him in relation to our faith in Him. With that being said, love isn’t based that much on what we say or the deep feeling of affection that we hold, but rather on the disposition of our heart to make sacrifices in order to express it.
