Within the Word of God, there’s a form of love that extends far beyond the scope of romantic love or sexual love, and close friendship or brotherly love. This love is known by the Greek term as “Agape”. God is the only One who possesses this kind of love due to the fact that He’s love by nature (1 John 4:8). What is truly magnificent about this form of love is that it’s both self-sacrificial and unconditional. This love was and is extended to us as sinful people in God’s sight, regardless of our unworthiness to Him.
As Christians, we are all aware of the fact that marriage is an institution ordained by God for a very specific purpose. First, God is a God of order, so that’s reflected in everything He does along with everything He’s doing. He has instituted marriage between a man and a woman not only for them to procreate so that family can become the main pillar of society but to build and nurture an intimate relationship between both of them.
Prayer is an integral part of the Christian faith. It’s something that we must set aside quality amount of time for it. Prayer is us talking to God concerning our needs, wants, or anything that we’re struggling with that’s beyond our control. If God demands us to do something, it’s because it’s of great importance. So it’s something that we have to take very seriously if we really want to live the kind of life that He desires for us to live through His Son.
Love is one of the utmost themes recorded in the Word of God. Christ has commanded us to love each other in the same manner that He has loved us according to (John 15:12). God is in fact the source of love; in other words, He’s love by nature (1 John 4:8). Furthermore, He has shared with us that remarkable love through His only begotten Son Christ Jesus. And He demands us to share that same type of love which is flowing through us to others, so that they may see that we are of Him and know Him.
One major aspect of faith is that it compels us to act out on it to obediently and earnestly follow whatever command God has given us if we truly want to exercise it. In fact, our willingness to act out on our faith is precisely what will demonstrate whether our faith in God is real. Our love for God can only be expressed through the means of our obedience to Him in relation to our faith in Him. With that being said, love isn’t based that much on what we say or the deep feeling of affection that we hold, but rather on the disposition of our heart to make sacrifices in order to express it.
Chapter 118th of the book of Psalms is a great chapter into which David talked a great deal about the steadfastness of God’s love toward those who’re walking in a close relationship with Him. He later declared that His steadfast love endures forever. Sometimes it can be really hard for us to hang unto the idea that God’s love for us is both powerful and eternal when we don’t really feel like it in the midst of trials. Continue reading
The book of Habakkuk is known as one of the shortest books found in the entire Word of God. This book contains only 3 chapters. That book is also classified as an oracle by the prophet Habakkuk which was written somewhere between 610 and 605 B.C. What is quite captivating about that book is the prophet’s complaints against God concerning the reason as to why He was allowing His own people to endure intense sufferings from their own enemies.
Evidently, we’re currently living in such a horrifying age where assuming our God-given responsibilities compels us to rise above all the negativities that surround our lives. Everything seems to be going against what God is actually telling us to do for His sake. We’re being bombarded with various types of world viewpoints that are based purely on the deception of the enemy. God is trying to strengthen marriages in a way that reflects His initial plan while Satan is doing the exact opposite. The world is so messed up to the extent that trying to live a responsible life before God can make you become an object of mock and ridicule.
Faith is one of the vital tenets out of Christianity. It is a powerful element that connects and welds us to God in such a manner that goes far beyond our own human comprehension. Our faith in God is the very thing that holds us steady and keeps us safe from the terrifying storms of life. It’s the intrinsic base of our reliance and confidence in God. Continue reading
When it comes down to worshiping, it’s very easy for many people’s minds to run to singing songs and hymns, clapping hands, lifting hands, and dancing to God, but worshiping God is not limited only to these things. Evidently, these things mentioned previously are an integral part of worshiping God, but in order for worship to be addressed acceptably there is something far deeper and more sacrificial than just doing any of these things mentioned earlier that must be done. While praise is associated with thanksgiving because of what God has done on our behalf; worship by itself has to do with complete submission to God because of whom He is to us.
